January's Venue

It's been decided that the next meeting in January be held again at 7.45pm, Emmanuel Church’s Parish Centre (i.e. behind the church),6 Barlow Moor Road, Upstairs.

We did hope to have the meeting on the first Tuesday of every month but we cannot get the Parish Centre for this time. We'll continue to look for a Tuesday venue that is in the centre of Didsbury and is accessible to all.

Hopefully this will be sorted by the February meeting. If you have any suggestions -do email me.

In the meantime - Merry Christmas & a happy new year.

December's first meeting

We had the first meeting which officially kicked off the Didsbury Village Women's Institute on Tuesday (2/12/08) in Emmanuel Church parish hall.

We had a great chocolate tasting talk (and sampling) followed by some formal kick-off talk and tea and cake. After this, some members for this coming year's committee were chosen. There are some roles still up for grabs.

The meetings hope to be on the first Tuesday of every month but we need a new venue as the hall isn’t available then. As a one off, the next meeting is on a Thursday (8th January 09) - I'll let you know when the venue is decided.

Basically, we can make the Didsbury Village WI into almost whatever sort of group we hope for. We get out of it what we put in. Now we need to find some fresh members!
